Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering: Is the process of obtaining enough technical information from a device or object in order to manufacture a suitable replacement part.

At Sandrin Services Inc. reverse engineering is something we deal with on a regular basis. We realize that drawings and technical information are not always available, especially for older equipment. That is where our years of experience and expertise come into play.

By using P.M.I. (Positive Material Inspection) and hardness testing, we can determine the type of material required from the sample part. We will then work with our customer to determine whether or not to enhance the original material specifications to prolong part life. Because of constant advancements in material production, older parts can often be easily upgraded.

We then make a CAD drawing of the part ensuring all critical sizes and specifications are correct. This drawing is then approved by the customer and the manufacturing process begins.
